SDO Ligao City Strengthens School Leadership thru SBM,SGC Capacity-Building Activity
The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Ligao City successfully conducted the “Empowering Leadership: SBM Advancement and SGC Strengthening” at Charisma Function Hall, Guinobatan, Albay last August 26, 2026 bringing together school heads and education leaders in a unified effort to enhance school governance and improve educational outcomes.
The activity served as a strategic platform for strengthening the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) and reinforcing the roles and responsibilities of School Governing Councils (SGCs) in promoting participatory, transparent, and accountable school governance. Six selected schools shared their SBM practices, namely:
Ligao City National Technical Vocational High School
Ligao East Central School
Paulba Elementary School
Tula-Tula Grande Elementary School
Palapas National High School
Deogracias P. Princesa Memorial High School
Participants deepened their understanding of effective leadership practices and stakeholder engagement mechanisms that support continuous school improvement. Key discussions highlighted the importance of empowering school communities through collaborative decision-making, evidence-based planning, and active involvement of parents, community partners, and other stakeholders in achieving educational goals.
